KELLY SLATER: 10º TÍTULO MUNDIAL

Creo que nadie lo dudaba... Kelly tenía que conseguir su décimo título mundial y todos sabíamos que antes o después lo iba a conseguir. Sin embargo ayer en Puerto Rico, al proclamarse campeón del Rip Curl Pro Search, se hacía realidad un sueño que hace historia en el mundo del deporte. 10 Títulos Mundiales es algo que muy pocos deportistas han llegado a conseguir y cualquiera que este cerca de semejante proeza debe figurar en los libros.
Kelly demostraba ayer, una vez más, que su nivel de competición esta en lo más alto. En la final obtuvo un 10 y un 8,77; puntuaciones que hacían que Bede D. (su contrincante en la final) no tuviera opciones cuando Kelly ya era matemáticamente campeón. No solo surfeo bien sino que desfasó como sólo él sabe hacerlo. Felicidades para Kelly y todos hemos presenciado un echo historico en el mundo del surf y del deporte en general.


I think that nobody doubted... Kelly had to get his tenth world title and we all knew that sooner or later was going to get it. But yesterday in Puerto Rico, to become champion of the Rip Curl Pro Search, a dream come true that makes history in the world of sport. 10 World Titles is something that very few athletes have come to get and anyone who is close to such a feat should be included in the books.
Kelly showed yesterday, once again, that hi is on his best level of competition. In the final scored a perfect 10 and an 8,77, he left Bede D. without options to win even that he was already world champion mathematically. Not only surfed well but he was on fire. Congrats to Kelly and we have all witnessed how someone makes history in the world of surfing and in sport in general.
