Macaronis
Cuándo: de abril a octubre
Dónde: En la parte sur de la cadena de islas de Mentawai en la costa de Sumatra, Indonesia.
Por qué: Tubos perfectos frente a una rampa de despegue y seguido por una larga pared para reventar; es sin duda alguna la ola más rippable del mundo (y mi ola favorita jejeje)
Conocimiento local: Consigue foto y un video tuyo aquí; nunca surfearás mejor que en Maccas!


Barra De La Cruz
Cuándo: de abril a octubre
Donde: "Barra", así es como se llama, se encuentra a 30 minutos de Huatulco en Oaxaca, México. Por qué: Se dio a conocer al mundo del surf en el épico año del Rip Curl Search. Con el viento, dirección, mareas, y bancos de arena buenos, Barra De La Cruz es una de las mejores derechas del mundo, tanto de tubos como de secciones increíbles en abundancia.
Conocimiento local: Trae un poco de material de surf a la gente local, su amabilidad podría pagarse en forma de olas increíbles. Además, todo el estado de Oaxaca está llena de excelentes condiciones.

Lower Trestles
Cuándo: de abril a octubre
Dónde: En la frontera de Orange y San Diego en el sur de California.
Por qué: Una derecha larga y rápida, una izquierda con rampa, Lowers se conoce como una de las olas más rippables en el mundo.
Conocimiento local: Intenta batir a la multitud de surferos en una tarde de domingo.

Jeffrey Bay
Cuándo: de abril a septiembre
Dónde: a 45 millas de Port Elizabeth, en el extremo sur de Sudáfrica.
Por qué: En el mundo de las derechas perfectas, J-Bay se encuentra en la parte superior de la lista.
Conocimiento Local: No saltes las olas a los tipos que usan jerseys blancos sobre sus trajes de neopreno y mide el tiempo de tu entrada o de lo contrario te estrellarás contra las rocas.

Malibu
Cuándo: Todo el año, pero en los meses de verano mejor.
Dónde: En ese pedacito de cielo conocido como Los Angeles.
Por qué: Sí, hay mucha gente, tanta como el infierno y es probable que te atropelle Matthew McConaughey en su SUP, pero donde más se puede surfear a la sombra de Miki Dora y los pioneros de California???
Conocimiento local: Puede saltar olas a diestro y siniestro!, excepto a Allen Sarlo. Las estrellas de cine tienen preferencia.


Pipeline
Cuándo: de octubre a abril
Dónde: Justo en el centro de la "Seven Mile Miracle" en la costa norte de Oahu.
Por qué: Con la línea de intensidad regular y los locales feroces no surfearás las mejores olas, pero salir remando en Pipe es ya una intensidad que marcará tu vida.
Conocimiento local: Surfea antes de que salga el sol para tener mejores oportunidades de pillar una buena por ahí.



Rincón
Cuándo: de octubre a marzo
Dónde: Centro de California, cerca de la pequeña ciudad de Carpentaria.
Por qué: Porque es "La reina de la costa" y el mejor derecha en California.
Conocimiento local: No dejes que la gente te disuada, comienza en la parte superior del pico y encontrarás el punto dulce entre la masa de la gente.


Restaurants
Cuándo: se puede coger en cualquier época, pero es más consistente de abril a octubre.
Dónde: Tavarua, Fiji.
Por qué: Uno de los tubos de izquierdas más perfectos del planeta. En una ola buena, literalmente puedes acomodarte en el tubo durante toda la longitud de la ola.
Conocimiento local: No te dejes engañar! La parte inferior subacuática de restaurants es heavy, poco profunda, y llena de relojes, joyas, aletas, y piel!!!, y probablemente unas cuantas cámaras GoPro.

Snapper Rocks
Cuándo: de febrero a julio
Dónde: Coolangatta en la Gold Coast de Australia.
Por qué: Sí, esta increíblemente masificada de gente, pero también es una ola de las más largas del mundo, y la mejor ola en el planeta para reventarte las piernas a surfear.
Conocimiento local: No vayas durante el Quiksilver Pro a finales de febrero / principios de marzo. Siéntate junto a las rocas, se agresivo, y obtendrás tu preciado tesoro.

Teahupoo
Cuándo: de abril a septiembre
Dónde: El final de la carretera en la isla de Tahití.
Por qué: Para hacerte el tubo de tu vida.
Conocimiento local: Mientras que las revistas en general presentan "Chopes" como la ola más mortífera en el mundo, con cuatro pies y buena dirección de mar, es absolutamente ridículo cómo te puedes entubar sin miedo a morir.

Macaronis
When: April—October
Where: In the southern part of the Mentawai Island chain off the coast of Sumatra, Indonesia.
Why: With a barrel off the takeoff followed by a long, smashable wall, it is hands down the most rippable wave in the world (and my favorite wave hehehe)
Local Knowledge: Get photo and video of yourself here—you’ll never surf better than out at Maccas.

Barra De La Cruz
When: April—October
Where: “Barra” as it’s called, is located 30 minutes from Huatulco in Oaxaca, Mexico.
Why: Unveiled to the surfing world during the epic Rip Curl Search event years ago, with ideal wind, swell direction, tide, and sandbars, Barra De La Cruz is one of the best right-handers in the world with both barrel and turn sections galore.
Local Knowledge: Bring some surf gear to the locals—your kindness could pay off in the form of set waves. And you didn’t hear it from us, but the whole state of Oaxaca is loaded with excellent surf.

Lower Trestles
When: April—October
Where: On the border of Orange and San Diego County in SoCal.
Why: A long right and quick, rampy left, Lowers is commonly known as one of the most rippable waves in the world.
Local Knowledge: Beat the crowd by surfing on a Sunday afternoon.

Jeffrey’s Bay
When: April—September
Where: 45 miles from Port Elizabeth on the southern tip of South Africa.
Why: In a world filled with perfect rights, J-Bay stands at the top of the list.
Local Knowledge: Don’t drop in on the guys wearing white jerseys over their wetsuits and time your entry or else you’ll be smashed into the rocks.

Malibu
When: Year round but best in the summer months.
Where: The quant little slice of heaven known as Los Angeles.
Why: Yeah it’s crowded as all hell and you’ll probably get run over by Matthew McConaughey’s SUP but where else can you surf in the shadow of Miki Dora and California’s pioneers?
Local Knowledge: You can drop in on anyone except Allen Sarlo. Movie stars especially are fair game.

Restaurants
When: Can break anytime but most consistent April—October.
Where: Tavarua, Fiji.
Why: One of the most perfect left tubes on the planet. On the right wave you literally sit in the barrel the entire length of the wave.
Local Knowledge: Don’t fall! The bottom at Restaurants is sharp, shallow, and littered with watches, jewelry, fins, skin, and probably a few GoPro cameras.

Snapper Rocks
When: February—July
Where: Coolangatta on the Gold Coast of Australia.
Why: Yeah it’s insanely crowded but it’s also one of the longest, most shred friendly rights on the planet.
Local Knowledge: Don’t go during the Quiksilver Pro in late February/early March. Sit by the rocks, be aggressive, and you’ll get one eventually.

Pipeline
When: October—April
Where: Smack dab in the middle of the “Seven Mile Miracle” on the North Shore of Oahu.
Why: With the intensely regulated lineup and fiery locals you won’t get the best waves, but just paddling out at Pipe is a rush in and of itself.
Local Knowledge: Surf before the sun comes up for your best shot at a good one out there.

Rincon
When: October—March
Where: Central California near the little town of Carpentaria.
Why: Because it’s “The Queen Of The Coast” and the best right in California.
Local Knowledge: Don’t let the crowd dissuade you, start at the top of the point and find your sweet spot in that mass of humanity.

Teahupo‘o
When: April—September
Where: The end of the road on the island of Tahiti.
Why: To get the barrel of your life.
Local Knowledge: While the mags generally portray “Chopes” as the deadliest wave in the world, at four foot and the right swell direction, it’s ridiculous how tubed you can get without fear of dying
